How to Play

Play Longcat online for free. Longcat is a 30-stage spatial puzzle where you must plan your movement route so that you fill every open square of a cavern with cat. You can not cross over your cat pieces which are already laid out, you can't pass through rock, and your cat moves in whichever direction you command until it runs into something. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the gray and white PLAY button on the game’s welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.

        Game Play
        Goal
        The goal of this game is to fill in every square of the cavern with cat.
        The cat can move in any direction, but it can not traverse over the same square twice & it can not move through rock.
        When the cat moves it keeps moving in the direction you indicated until it either runs into rock, the cavern boundary, or another part of itself.
        Levels
        This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any point in time.
        Winning vs losing
        You beat a level by filling all open spaces in the cavern with cat.
        You lose a level if you run out of moves and there is still open space remaining.
        If you lose a level you can replay an unlimited number of times.
        Strategy
        Try not to split the puzzle in half unless there is at least one square open to traverse from side to side so you do not leave gaps.
        Aim at pieces of cat or rocks in the middle which can stop your travel before the board is cut in half with open pieces on both sides.
        You move until you run into something each time you move, so you can plan your moves 2 or 3 steps ahead to see if a move will lead to a dead end.
        If you see a tile which is only open in one direction that means that is the final tile you must fill in & you can work backward from there.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like path builder spatial puzzle games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
