How to Play

Play Mahjongg online for free. Mahjongg is a simple Mahjongg Solitaire game offering 300 distinct board layouts players can choose from. Clear out the entire stack of stones by removing one pair of identical stones at a time. The faster you clear the stack, the higher your score. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.

Select Help to learn about the game and its rules.
Select High Scores to view the leaderboard.
Use the drop-down list on the top left corner to choose the game’s language.
Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
- Select Submit Scores to save your high score to the leaderboard.
- Use the gear button, then select Reset to clear your previous game progress.

    - With your mouse, left click to select the rune stones.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Tap on the rune stones with your fingers to select them.
      - Controls and indicators
        On the game screen, the controls and indicators are located on the right. From the top, they are as follows:
        Upper box:
        Level number
        Level score (current and best)
        Timer (current and best)
        Lower box:
        Hint
        Shuffle
        Background: Changes the game’s background
        Pause
        Bottom row, left to right:
        Music button: Turns the game’s music on and off
        Speaker button: Turns the game’s audio effects on and off
        Enlarge button: Lets you switch between full-screen and windowed modes
        The level selection screen has the following controls:
        Level icons let you load any level you want.
        The navigation buttons let you switch pages. They are located on the center left and center right.
        Game Play
        Level selection
        All levels are unlocked and playable. You can choose any level to begin the game.
        After you finish one level, the game loads the next one.
        Levels are loaded in order. For instance, if you play the first level, the second is the one that loads after it. If you start with the third level, the fourth is what loads next, and so on.
        There are 300 levels in this game.
        Basic rules
        Select pairs of identical stones to remove them from the stack.
        The exceptions to this rule are flower or season stones.
        Flowers can be paired with any flower stone.
        Seasons can be paired with any season stone.
        You can only remove free stones:
        Free stones have no stone above them and have at least one side (left or right) without an adjacent stone.
        The game highlights all free stones onscreen with a lighter background color & stones that are not free have a darker background color.
        Remove the entire stack before your score reaches zero.
        Scoring
        Level score
        You start each level with a score of 10,000.
        You lose 10 points per second as each level elapses.
        It will take 16 minutes and 40 seconds to hit 0.
        Your best scores and time for the level are shown below its icon on the level selection screen.
        You can replay the level to try to beat your previous best score and time.
        Total score
        Your total score represents your high scores on all the levels you’ve played.
        You can raise your total score by the following means:
        Play more levels
        Beat your previous high scores on levels you already played.
        Save your total score to the leaderboard by selecting Submit Score on the welcome screen.
        Assistance
        You can use hints and shuffles if you’re ever stuck.
        Hints highlight an available pair anywhere on the stack.
        Shuffles change the arrangement of all the stones in the stack. The game does this automatically if you run out of valid open pairs.
        Both hints and manual shuffles cost points. Use them sparingly.
        Hints cost 100 points and add 10 seconds to your time.
        Manual shuffles cost 200 points and add 20 seconds to your time.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like traditional Mahjongg Solitaire tile match games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
